Volunteers
We couldn’t do this without you.
CFF is a non-profit, and our volunteers are the ones who actually make it run. Every ticket torn, every guest guided to their seat, every filmmaker pointed in the right direction. If you’ve ever wanted to be on the inside of a film festival rather than just attending one, this is your chance.

Lifelong friendships have started in our volunteer lines.
This is Charlotte’s festival, built by people who live here and care about it. Volunteering with CFF means you are not just helping an event run smoothly, you are getting a real look at how a film festival actually works. From logistics and box office to guest relations and talent coordination, there is a role for just about everyone and we make it a point to let people try different things.
You will be in the same spaces as the filmmakers, sometimes grabbing coffee next to them, sometimes sitting in on a Q&A you helped set up. For anyone interested in film, the arts, or event production, that kind of access is hard to find anywhere else. A lot of our volunteers have told us it gave them something real to put on a resume, and more importantly, friendships that stuck around long after the festival ended.
There are perks too. Screening passes, festival merch, food, invitations to events that are not open to the general public. We work around your schedule and whether you can give us one afternoon or the whole week, there is a spot for you.
Sign-ups for 2026 are open now. We would love to have you with us September 22nd through 27th at the Independent Picture House.
