CFF is a non-profit, and our volunteers are the ones who actually make it run. Every ticket torn, every guest guided to their seat, every filmmaker pointed in the right direction. If you’ve ever wanted to be on the inside of a film festival rather than just attending one, this is your chance.
Lifelong friendships have started in our volunteer lines.
This is Charlotte’s festival. The people who run it live here, and so do a lot of the volunteers who make it happen every year. If you’ve ever wanted to see how a film festival actually works from the inside — not the polished version, the real one — this is a pretty good way to do it.
You’ll work alongside the team on everything from box office to guest relations to helping set up Q&As. Sometimes that means you’re grabbing coffee next to a filmmaker you just watched on screen. That kind of access doesn’t come around often, and a lot of our past volunteers have walked away with real experience, real connections, and friendships that outlasted the festival by years.
There are perks too — screening passes, merch, food, and invitations to events that aren’t open to the public. We work around your schedule. One afternoon or the whole week, there’s something for you.
