OPENING NIGHT FILM!

A decade after his death, genre-defying filmmaker William Greaves has one last trick up his sleeve with what he considered the most important event he captured on film: a 1972 party he engineered with the living luminaries of the Harlem Renaissance.

The Charlotte Film Festival invites the Charlotte community to join us for a special post-film discussion on September 22nd, following the “Opening Night” screening of Once Upon a Time in Harlem. Join us for a conversation exploring the enduring impact of the Harlem Renaissance and the ways art can nurture community, shape cultural identity, and inspire social change.
