8 Seconds at the Three Sisters

A filmmaker sets out on a solo canoe trip to North Carolina’s Black River and the ancient Three Sisters Swamp. Halfway through the journey, something happens that changes the course of both the trip and the film. Combining digital video, hand-processed 16mm film, animation, and voiceover, the film reconstructs an experience that no longer existed on camera.
