MIDDLING

SHE & HIM meet in grad school, pursuing their MFAs in film. She’s a comedy writer. He’s a serious documentarian. She’s from the great white North. He’s from the deep South. She’s in a long distance situationship. He’s married.

Despite having absolutely nothing in common, they find themselves inexplicably drawn to one another. Over the course of the school year, the two become closer, blurring the boundaries of stereotypical “platonic” friendship and begetting several philosophical questions: Do soulmates exist? Do they argue this much? Are they just foils, or a test from God? Most importantly, is Albert Brooks grating, or a comedic genius?
