On his 12th birthday in 1961 Texas, Walt is stuck celebrating with his obnoxious little sister, Missy. Between stolen tea cups, birthday cake, and the kind of pointless arguments only siblings can have, the two spend the afternoon getting on each other’s nerves.

More than sixty years later, Walt is celebrating his 74th birthday at the very same table, and Missy is still right there beside him. They may be older, but not much has changed. Missy still bosses him around, Walt still gets annoyed with her, and neither has lost their ability to drive the other crazy. But when Missy’s dentures unexpectedly land on Walt’s birthday cake, the two can’t help but laugh.

“yer smackin” is a warm comedy about growing old with the people who know how to annoy you better than anyone, and loving them all the more for it.
