The Charlotte Film Festival, is nothing if not the sum of the efforts of all the volunteers that come together to
made it happen. To all of them it is promised an invigorating experience with an opportunity to learn, grow,
and be inspired by the event and its atmosphere.
If you love movies, whether it is making them or just watching, you will find no better place to be this coming
September. We like to think of the Festival not as an event, but as an experience. For none is that more true
than for its volunteers. We provide a positive, respectful and friendly atmosphere for people who want to help
create an exciting event that celebrates the art form they love.
How do I become a volunteer? The first step is to fill out our online volunteer application form. After we've received it and had a chance to review the form, you will be contacted by our Volunteer Coordinator. How soon we respond to your application depends mainly on whether you are interested in working with us year-round or just during the event. So do not think we've turned your application down if you don't hear from us right away.
If you are only interested in working with us during the event, the next step after the application will be to attend a volunteer recruitment session. Information on the variety of volunteer opportunities at the Festival and the benefits of volunteering are provided in this session.
A recruitment session is where you sign up for all volunteer shifts for September 25 - 28, 2008 and for pre-Festival shifts or roles. Important information about volunteering for the Festival is provided at these sessions and staff from the Festival will be available to answer all of your questions. All volunteers must sign up at a recruitment session to participate in the Festival.
The sessions will be held sometime in late summer 2008 in uptown Charlotte.
Persons invited to attend will be given the specific locations and time when contacted after their application is reviewed.
Absolutely. If you sign up for event-only participation, you will be trained on whichever specific duty you are assigned.
Last year we held two training sessions for each department: one the last week of August and the other the first week of September. While we still don't know when our training sessions will be, we promise to give you sufficient time to schedule them in.
Attendance to at least one of the two training sessions is mandatory.
