Volunteers are involved in every department and program of the Charlotte Film Festival and, combined, contribute
close to 3,000 hours to the organization. Volunteer opportunities range from tearing tickets at Festival venues,
to creating a spreadsheet analyzing marketing trends. Often volunteers start off working in theatres or helping with
administrative tasks such as mailings. As they become more familiar with the organization, responsibilities may
increase and could lead to permanent paying positions.
Assembling a successfully film festival is a year-round project. Therefore, we need help in organizing,
promoting, and facilitating all the events that form part of it.
Year-round, volunteers choose volunteer roles that fit their own schedules and interests. At first, volunteers are
encouraged (and expected) to take on administrative tasks. As volunteers spend more time with the organization
responsibilities are often increased.
If assembling a successful film festival requires a lot of planning. Actually having one requires a lot of dedicated people full of energy and a love of films.
